Hiking at Elk Island

We had a beautiful Sunday afternoon and decided to head out to Alberta's beautiful Elk Island National Park for a day hike.  I can't tell you how may times while on a hike I have run into someone who stops to pet my dog and proceeds to tell me about there dog at home. I never get it.  Were is there dog... why of all places would you not bring your dog hiking!  The dogs love it, and mine equipped with their packs even carry all the gear for us, water bottles, sunscreen, poop bags, lunch, dog treats, and misquote spray, on this particular trip.
Although today we did see 3 dogs in the picnic area by the parking lot, although no other dogs hiking.

On the way home and still loving it!  The dogs love even just having the please of taking a car ride with their beloved people, and the wind in their face!

A Wonderful Week of Cafes and Coffees!

Other than on Friday we had a wonderful week of weather nearly everyday started off with a bike ride to a cafe for a coffee and snack with Tim and the dogs!  What a wonderful way to start the day!  And the bike ride provide the much needed exercise for a well behaved dogs as we sip our coffees and read in the sunshine.

Tim and Olive at Block 1912, although mid afternoon so we are having Italian sodas, rather than coffee.

We stopped a new place this afternoon on a way home form a bike ride to ask if we could have our dogs on the patio!  And to our delight we have added a new restaurant and sushi to the list of the many places we can visit with the dogs!  And to top it off it was very tasty, and not too expensive!

Far too long

It has been far too long.  But I have decided to get back to blogging about our adventures.  Just a few things we have been up too!

Just a few weeks ago we all went on a family canoe trip.  Lenny has been canoeing in the past, but Olive had done much less canoeing.  So prior to setting out onto the water for 4 days with 2 dogs we figured that we should test out the waters with 2 dogs in a canoe.

With Edmonton Canoe we set out down the Saskatchewan River.  They drive you out and drop you off with a canoe, and were happy to let both Lenny and Olive climb into their Van!

Well the 1 day trip was a success so we decided to go ahead with the 4 day canoe trip we had planned!  Packed up the car and headed up to Lake Land Alberta Provincial Park, to paddle the waters of Alberta's only canoe circuit!
Olive is already excited as we unload the canoe!

Checking out our 1st nights camps sight.

Yes they sleep in our sleeping bags!

Simply Exhausted!
